Speculatores Noctis

In the final years of the Roman Republic, Julius Caesar's enemies are gathering-and not all of them are human.

A young boy cursed with visions of events before they happen is taken from his home by his uncle and delivered into the service of the Speculatores, Rome's most secretive military intelligence force. His gift earns him a place within Speculatores Noctis, an elite four-man detachment that investigates threats ordinary soldiers cannot confront.

Reporting directly to Caesar, the unit is dispatched to uncover a hidden alliance between Rome's enemies and ancient practitioners of forbidden magic. Across blood-soaked villages, haunted forests, and treacherous military camps, the boy's visions expose rituals designed to weaken Caesar's legions and bring the Republic to its knees.

But every prophecy demands a price. As the hunters close in on a powerful circle of witches, the boy discovers that someone inside Caesar's command is protecting them-and that his own arrival was foretold long before he was born.
