Lawless Ozarks

Alone, eight-year-old Dalton Parnell sits until dark watching the raging fire reduce his home to a pile of smoldering ashes. Everything he loves is gone. Now, there are flames within him, and as he grows up, the embers shape his destiny.

In the lawless Ozarks, Dalton pursues justice for the murder of his family by Kansas marauders. His thirst for vengeance and retribution fuels the ever-present inferno that gives him purpose. The harsh realities of frontier life, outlaw culture, and the pursuit of justice leave their mark on his soul. However, the unexpected meeting of beautiful Elizabeth Stanly and her young daughter threatens to turn his life around.

Will Dalton realize too late that his heart is actually a cold prison, one that locks out any chance of real warmth and love? Or will he let his true self emerge and allow his charred heart to heal?
