Erasing the Sky

A collection of haiku by Laurie Wilcox-Meyer.

"Acknowledging that she writes on the Anikituwagi homeland, Laurie Wilcox-Meyer explores her own interconnection to the natural and human worlds through the seasonal variation of haiku and the personal narration of haibun. Erasing the Sky homes many moments about native flora and fauna, what happens when the land is altered by natural disasters, and the extensive impact of destructive sociopolitical constructs. These poems are potent, enriching, and eye-opening. Wilcox-Meyer writes for the exploited and the endangered, and her poetic voice is necessary to save the Earth. Erasing the Sky is a book to read when you're seeking refuge from the state of the world."
