Inspector and The Robber

Inspector Beauregard, the bloodhound senior inspector for Sheriff Paul of the Duchy of Lakehurst, has spent nine years tracking down a brutal gang of highway robbers. Even the bloodhound's sensitive nose has not been able to provide any leads on this case. His investigation into the latest attack, involving two friends of Duke Alfred and a missing fox kit, gets thrown off when a fox turns himself in to the Sheriff of Foxport, claiming to be part of the very gang Beauregard has been tracking.

Inspector Beauregard finds himself facing a charming but still elusive fox, along with his own demons, while trying to bring the rest of the gang to justice in this tale that blends fantasy and mystery.

Set in the same kingdom as the Randall Fox stories, this story follows up on events depicted in The Hermitage and The Henge, and The Kit and The Kitsune.
