Sixteen-year-old Alisher Bones has never known how to answer the question everyone keeps asking: who are you going to become?

Then a strange purple candy from a boutique called Lune promises something impossible: Taste who you are.

One taste opens a door Alisher was not ready to find. Soon, people around town begin seeing her in places she has never been-walking hospital halls in scrubs, appearing near a racetrack, moving through a university lab, showing up in photographs and mirrors a half-second before she does. Each version of Alisher is older, sharper, more certain. Each one has chosen a life. And each one may be losing pieces of herself.

With the help of her best friend Nadia, her sister Mara, and a case board full of impossible evidence, Alisher begins investigating the mystery of the doubles. But the deeper she looks, the more dangerous certainty becomes. Something behind the mirrors is arranging the versions of her like clues, and it may not want any of them to stay whole.

To survive, Alisher must answer the question she has feared all her life: does becoming one person mean burying every other version of yourself?
