Two brothers begin a journey in a world altered by ecological disasters, shaped by technology that sometimes looks like magic, creatures of myth brought on by technology, and factions that use the legacy of the Ancients, as they call the Humans before, either as inspiration for a violent purge, or as a tool to manipulate at least some survivors into a society that would, form a new society, ideally a better one
