2 Samuel tells the story of a single man across the full arc of his reign: David, the shepherd who became king, the warrior who united a nation, and the deeply flawed figure whose private failures reshaped the future of his house.

It records his adultery with Bathsheba, the murder he arranged to conceal it, and the prophet's confrontation-"You are the man"-with unflinching honesty.

What follows is a book governed by consequence. Forgiveness is granted, but the effects of David's sin unfold through his family for the rest of his life: the violation of Tamar, the murder of Amnon, the rebellion and death of Absalom, and a father's broken cry over a lost son.
