My Story of Trauma and PTSD

I tuly believe that this book is a "must-read" for anyone who has been through a significant trama and suffers with mightmares, bad memories, or any sort of issues that remain long after the event; or anyone who may be experiencing symptoms of PTSD, or is in a relationship with an individual that is exhibiting symptoms.My trauma occured over 30 years before my PTSD condition was diagnosed. My symptoms laid dormant and were limited to mild panic attacks that occurred only occasionally until an overburdened workload coupled with unrealistic deadlines brought me head first into a world that I had never before experienced. I've since learned that PTSD is a very common condition that impacts countless individuals of both military and civilian backgrounds. Many people are not even aware that they are dealing with PTSD, but actually, onyone who was a victim of, witness to, or has been exposed to a life-threatening or traumatic situation may be affected by PTSD.I've shared my very personal experience within this writing because I want people to understand how trauma can impact our minds, and that we do not need to be ashamed of events that occured in the past. Especially when those events were outside of our control. It is possible to overcome bad experiences and rebuild your life, but only after you face the events of the past. The steps to accomplish this are here within the pages of this book. While this writing is not a comprehensive, in-depth, medical, or psychological study of PTSD. It is my very personal story of trauma, and understanding PTSD. I carry the hope that the information contained within will enable readers to step onto a path of recovery and learn to enjoy and fully appreciate their lives.
