Betterment: A Meditation on Men's Relationship to Women, to Girls, and to Themselves

BETTERMENT is a personal exploration of the nature of manhood, and an inquiry into men's responsibility to women and girls. Growing up in the era of the rise of modern feminism, Joshua Lazerson found himself wondering what the role of men might be in supporting the aspirations of women and girls. Moved both by the gains that women have made in realizing full personhood in American and other societies, and his sense that women still remain far from taking their rightful place as fully vested people, earners, leaders, and partners, Lazerson asks men to contemplate what it means to be a man, and how we, as men, can better realize our own humanity and potential in the context of supporting women and girls.
