Electronic Books and Their Tools: The Webs Prototype and the Oscar Project

This first volume is an annotated collection of articles in English and French, originating from two research groups studying the creation and diffusion of electronic documents. The first part of the book is dedicated to WEBS, a hypermedia software designed for the manipulation of electronic books, while the second part tackles the question of optical reading and present a method and a language for automatically recognizing the structure of complex documents.
