Diamagnetic Susceptibility and Anisotropy of Inorganic and Organometallic Compounds (2007)

Volume 18 of the <i>Handbook of Magnetic Materials</i>, as the preceding volumes, has a dual purpose. As a textbook it is intended to help those who wish to be introduced to a given topic in the field of magnetism without the need to read the vast amount of literature published. As a work of reference it is intended for scientists active in magnetism research. To this dual purpose, Volume 18 is composed of topical review articles written by leading authorities. In each of these articles an extensive description is given in graphical as well as in tabular form, much emphasis being placed on the discussion of the experimental material in the framework of physics, chemistry and material science. It provides readers with novel trends and achievements in magnetism.

<p>Magnetic nanowires and microwires are key tools in the development of<br>enhanced devices for information technology (memory and data processing) and<br>sensing. Offering the combined characteristics of high density, high speed, and<br>non-volatility, they facilitate reliable control of the motion of magnetic domain<br>walls&#x3b; a key requirement for the development of novel classes of logic and storage<br>devices.</p> <p>Part One introduces the design and synthesis of magnetic nanowires and<br>microwires, reviewing the growth and processing of nanowires and nanowire<br>heterostructures using such methods as sol-gel and electrodeposition<br>combinations, focused-electron/ion-beam-induced deposition, chemical<br>vapour transport, quenching and drawing and magnetic interactions. <p><i>Fundamentals and Sensing Applications of 2D</i> <i>Materials </i>provides a comprehensive understanding of a wide range of 2D materials.
