Basic Structures of Function Field Arithmetic (1998)

The arithmetic of function fields over finite fields is a relatively new area of mathematics. The author has been in the forefront of research in this field since it started and this book is the first systematic treatment of this field. Many applications and open problems are presented and the last section of the book introduces the reader to some of the most vital areas of current research.
