In this book using the two vessel approach the synthesis of enkephalins modified at fifth position is described. Enkephalins are pentapeptides (Tyr-Gly-Gly-Phe-Met), and are produced endogenously to relieve pain. The suitability and flexibility of two-vessel approach is further demonstrated by synthesizing enkephalin derivatives involving lengthy reactions.
