From the Plenary to Paper

In this paper, we will analyse the entire process carried out by the person responsible for preparing the minutes of plenary meetings. More than simply copying information from the oral text to the written text, the work of the secretary (the person responsible for preparing the minutes) must consider a wide range of actions, in addition to the people who may read this material. In analysing the preparation of a text such as this, the operations proposed by Bakhtin will be widely applied. It is, therefore, required reading for anyone involved in the process of retextualisation or who acts as a secretary in collegiate meetings.
