protection of human rights in economic blocs

The protection of human rights today is not limited to specific international agreements in these areas, since with the movements of regional integration, globalisation of the economy and society, it is necessary to incorporate this protection into transnational entities, such as regional economic blocs. It is not possible to draw up an integration policy aimed at a common market or a deeper union without, at the same time, influencing the rights of individuals. The protection of human rights in the integration process is entirely driven by the protection requirements that are already guaranteed in domestic law. In order to understand how the protection of human rights has been included in the integration process and the means of protecting these rights, we seek to analyse the development of human rights protection in economic blocs, more specifically in the European Union and Mercosur.
