Conservation and Restoration of the Uyo Uyo Archaeological Ensemble

Conservation and Restoration of the Uyo Uyo Archaeological Ensemble is a work that documents the integral process of investigation, diagnosis, conservation and restoration of this important site in the Colca Valley, highlighting its historical, symbolic and territorial value for Andean communities. The book explains the objectives and technical principles of the project -such as minimum intervention, authenticity, continuous maintenance, and respect for international conservation standards- and describes the methodology applied in the recording, cleaning, structural stabilization, environmental management, and architectural recomposition of the site. It also presents the main archaeological findings that show evidence of domestic, ritual and funerary practices, as well as processes of occupation, abandonment and transformation of the space, integrating constructive analysis, stratigraphic observations and field results. The work culminates by emphasizing the cultural relevance of the site and the need for an interdisciplinary and sustainable approach to guarantee its preservation as Peru's living heritage.
