Overview of Electrical Power Quality

The boom in power electronics technology in the recent era results in the increased use of solid-state devices for different applications because of their improved controllability and high efficiency. Moreover, renewable energy technology is also growing and solving the massive energy crisis issues. On the other hand, they deteriorate the quality of electrical power precipitating power quality issues in the distribution system that result in maloperations, damage of customer equipment, increased losses, and have a direct impact on the economy. So, the objective of writing this book is to make the readers aware of power quality issues, to give a clear understanding of different power quality issues, their causes and detrimental effects, the procedure to monitor different power quality issues, mitigation of the problem and finally future scope of this study for a sustainable, resilient and quality energy future.
