"Stumbling blocks" as a medium for political education and remembrance culture

"Stumbling stones" have become an indispensable part of remembrance culture. Gunter Demnig describes his art as a "decentralized memorial that is constantly growing" or a "social sculpture." This book presents an excerpt of his work using the city of Emden as an example. Methodology and didactics relating to working with "stumbling stones," especially from an educational perspective, are introduced by historical sites from our "dark past".
