Intrinsically disordered proteins/regions are a very large and functionally important group of proteins that contribute to weak multivalent interactions in protein complexes. IDPs/IDRs are particularly enriched in the nuclear proteome and are particularly abundant in chromatin and chromatin-associated proteins. NUPR1 is involved in chromatin re-modelling, amphipathic helical peptides hamper interactions of NUPR1, and designed peptides can be applied used to inhibit interactions of IDPs. Digital PCR is a new technique to nucleic acid detection and quantification which suggests a substitute method to conventional real-time quantitative PCR for absolute quantification and rare allele detections, and digital PCR operates by partitioning a sample of DNA or cDNA into various individual, parallel PCR reactions; some of these reactions consists of the target molecule (positive) whilst others do not (negative).
