This books discussed the forty-nine (49) sounds according to the International Phonetics Alphabet Association (IPA), the classification of the sounds, the factors affecting the classification of the sounds, the consonant clusters, the consonant digraphs, the syllabic words, rhymes, word stress and the rules, the emphatic stress, the letters that can represent each of the vowel sounds in words with examples according to charts, the letters that can represent certain consonant sounds in words (especially the consonants with special treatment) with examples based on charts showing the formation of the words and their transcriptions for easy understanding.The most important thing about the book is that it presented a lot of exercises based on the requirements from standard examination bodies such as WAEC, NECO, JAMB, GCE, and others, which will provide better performance for the students and every reader at large.
