Dr Congo: Wasted Economic Potential

The Democratic Republic of Congo embodies one of the most striking paradoxes of the contemporary world: an exceptional concentration of natural and human wealth, coexisting with persistent poverty and structural underdevelopment.In this work of economic, political and social analysis, the author explores the root causes of this paradox. He highlights the mechanisms of poor governance, the extraversion of the economic model, political and security instability, and the shared responsibilities of internal and external players.In addition to these observations, the book proposes a rethinking of the Congolese economic model, based on industrialization, local transformation of resources, investment in human capital and the rebuilding of a strategic State.Finally, the book calls for a national economic and social pact, placing Congolese youth at the heart of the transformation project.
