Idea of Progress

The contemporary biotechnological revolution is undeniably improving the material conditions of human existence by increasing the goods, opportunities, and conveniences offered by modern society. However, this technological progress comes with a major risk: that of a civilizational regression affecting human dignity. The trivialization of life and the instrumentalization of the body-now subjected to transformations that threaten its very essence-reflect a profound crisis of humanity. Yet it is acknowledged that this does not lead to fatalism. Drawing inspiration from Leibniz's monadology, it remains possible to envision a future grounded in reason, where human development unfolds within a dynamic, open, and nonlinear framework.
