From this convergence of four distinct yet closely intertwined fields emerged this transdisciplinary work, which aims to shed light on the ethical challenges posed by the introduction of new technologies-such as bioprinting-into the healthcare sector. The regulatory details provided here offer a clearer understanding of the legal and political issues raised by the emergence of these innovations. Beyond technical questions and what constitutes innovation, this reflection prompts us to consider the meaning of the word "progress" and how we wish to define the term "care" from a long-term perspective. Ethics is the guiding thread of this reflection-a humanistic ethics that transcends any normative framework. In the absence of practical data from real-world settings, as such data is still largely in the making, this reflection seeks to highlight the issues and forces at play in order to establish fair normative guidelines that are not merely restrictive.
