'Henri Michaux is an atypical author because he defies genre. In the sense that he deconstructs and subverts literary genres within their conventional classifications. At best, he is described as a poet, but he is first and foremost a writer. A writer for whom language and the act of writing are objects, means, processes and ends in themselves for approaching the world and existence. Each of his texts is a challenge, an offence, a delirium in itself, with oneself and with otherness. It is in the light of these observations, themes and forms that we situate the present study. It draws in particular on the text that Michaux titled 'L'infini turbulent'. For us, it constitutes an exemplary, even experimental, subject of study." (Abdelkader Benamer).
