Advanced Clay-Polymer Composites

This book is the result of several years of research and experience in the fields of composite materials, water treatment, and sustainable construction. It presents a study focused on clay-polymer composites made from chitosan and polyethylene glycol (PEG 6000), intended for environmental and energy applications. Through experimental analyses and modeling approaches, this work highlights the interaction mechanisms between clays and polymers, as well as their influence on the physicochemical, mechanical, and thermal properties of the resulting materials. The results demonstrate the potential of these composites for the adsorption of heavy metals and dyes in industrial wastewater, as well as for improving the performance of rammed earth bricks. This book is a scientific contribution aimed at promoting innovative, environmentally friendly, and sustainable solutions based on waste recovery and the circular economy.
