Actinomycetes: an alternative approach to tackling antifungal resistance

The main aim of this book is to shed light on the various fungal infections that exist and the agents responsible for them, the main antifungal agents used in human medicine and their modes of action, whilst also discussing the various mechanisms that fungi use to circumvent the effects of these antifungal substances - particularly via membrane systems known as efflux pumps - and, finally, to discuss actinomycetes as an alternative source of bioactive substances.
