Transdisciplinarity in Science Studies

Within the field of Science Studies, transdisciplinarity is one of the latest trends in the development of contemporary science and culture in general. It is an integrative approach that addresses problem-solving by combining fundamental scientific theories with practical application. The first part of the book explores the main reasons for reflecting on transdisciplinarity within contemporary conceptions of Science Studies. It examines issues related to 20th-century scientific rationality and the development of transdisciplinarity-the reasons for its emergence and the methodological approaches that distinguish it from interdisciplinarity and multidisciplinarity and provide it with a speculative foundation. The second part presents research on the transdisciplinary experience from the perspective of Science Studies. It includes a study of the experience at the boundary between scientific knowledge and the lived world, of scientific discourse within a transdisciplinary experience, of transdisciplinary reflection in Science Studies, of transdisciplinary communication, and of transdisciplinary rationality.
