legal framework for tourism in Greece

Over the decades, tourism has experienced continuous growth and has become increasingly diverse, to the point where it is now one of the world's fastest-growing economic sectors. Tourism is an economic sector of paramount importance to Greece, constituting one of the main sources of income and employment. As Greece's economy is primarily based on tourism, its promotion and protection must be the subject of particular legislative and political attention. Tourism, by its very nature, is a cross-cutting activity, and its scientific approach within the legal sphere is complex, as all branches of law are relevant to this sector, notably public law, civil law, labour law and criminal law. It is therefore a multidisciplinary subject with a broad scope, given its numerous sources and influences. The aim of this book is to examine the legal rules applicable to tourism in Greece from the perspective of the two main branches of law: public law and private law.
