Rise of AI and Its Impact on Productivity

After fossil fuels, electricity, and ICT, AI would herald the 4th digital revolution. It is present in our daily lives, through home automation or social networks. Seldom has such an evolution generated so many opportunities for resolution. It is omnipresent, carrying both promises and concerns. Its rise contributes to productivity and the creation of added value, while taking into account the challenges related to its integration. It is used in all sectors without exception. The positive effects of AI on productivity are (automation of repetitive tasks, time savings, efficiency, reduction of errors or blunders, novelty, job creation, competition). But AI has limits regarding (creative destruction, unequal distribution of wealth, income, and assets, technological dependence with a lack of autonomy). It raises dilemmas such as data protection. The future will therefore depend on the ability to adapt to the machine without excluding it. The challenge is not to curb AI, but to combine it intelligently so that it benefits everyone.
