The fight against malaria remains a public health priority in sub-Saharan Africa. Studies on the impact of IPMs and resistance have shown that the residual effect of the products used is short-lived and that vectors are becoming resistant. This finding highlights the need to identify, at an early stage, alternative insecticides with different modes of action and a long-lasting residual effect of at least six months. It is with this in mind that the present study was conducted. It aims to evaluate the efficacy and residual effect of Fludora Fusion(R) in comparison with clothianidin alone and deltamethrin alone against susceptible and resistant populations of An. gambiae s.s. The study was conducted in the municipality of Dangbo, Benin, following the WHOPES Phase III protocol. Cone tests were performed on wall surfaces one week after IPD and repeated once a month using the susceptible "Kisumu" strain and once every two months using field-collected An. gambiae s.s. until nine months had elapsed. Analysis of the results shows that Fludora Fusion(R) and clothianidin at 200 mg/m² alone induced mortality rates of >= 80% in populations of An. gambiae s.s.
