Between Escape and Responsibility: Reflections of an Outsider

From Hoaxes and Indoctrination to Self-Awareness and Responsibility: a Book for the Disenchanted Striving for a Better Tomorrow

Progress, globalisation, post-truth, victimhood, the excesses of technology, the rise of transhumanism... these pressing themes of contemporary sociological reality intertwine with existential questions such as consciousness, alienation, solitude and human connection. This wide-ranging essay challenges mainstream discourse and helps us understand why we continue to repeat the same mistakes time and again.

Self-serving narratives, impostures and heavily ideological stances have flooded the socio-political stage, blocking the way for open dialogue and genuine action. Now more than ever, individuals must hold fast to reflection and critique if they are to resist the tactics of power and the countless everyday manipulations. Yet this alone is not enough. In an age whose motto is turning away from anything troubling or inconvenient, we must also embrace responsibility as a core ethical value-one that shapes not only our most consequential life choices but also the smallest, most ordinary challenges we face.
