Most works on Jyotiṣa set out what the planets, houses and Nakṣatras signify and leave the matter there. This one asks why, and does not move forward until the answer is found.

It returns to the philosophical and cosmological roots of the tradition, drawing from the Ṛgveda through the Upaniṣads alongside the classical astrological literature, and engages with a depth rarely attempted in modern texts. The sidereal zodiac is approached through its ontological basis, the Nakṣatras through their Vedic deities, the planetary significations through their archetypal origins, and dṛṣṭi not as geometry alone but as a way of seeing shaped by Indian epistemology. Much of what is usually taken for granted is here followed back to its sources, and both derived and established from them.

By returning to Satya and Ṛta, eternal truth and cosmic order, it shows the ground from which predictive methods draw their meaning, their value and their reliability. The work does not begin with what the chart says. It begins with what makes the chart possible to read.
