City of Sleepwalkers

In a secret city built for a global experiment in Patagonia, a young Nepalese woman awakens from seven years of induced sleepwalking to find herself trapped in a world where consciousness is a commodity-and the only way to reclaim her humanity is to confront the forces that erased it.

Alisha Rajvanshi, a brilliant robotics student from Nepal, is abducted and brought to a clandestine colony in Patagonia known as the City of Sleepwalkers. Here, 5,000 young people from around the world are kept in a state of permanent parasomnia by a shadowy scientific cabal called the 300 Group, backed by NATO intelligence. While sleepwalking, they live in a trance-like existence, their bodies and minds observed as data for a sinister post-human project.

When Alisha unexpectedly regains full consciousness-triggered by a piece of music from her past-she finds herself alone in a waking nightmare. To survive, she must pretend to still be asleep, navigating the artificial town under the watchful eyes of scientists and cameras. She seeks out Mircea, a Romanian philosopher and her former sleepwalking companion, but finds only fragmented, poetic dialogue-a ghost of connection.
