About the Book

Layla has always lived in two worlds: the bustling streets of New York City and the vibrant, familiar rhythms of Mumbai. But as she grows older, the threads connecting her to her Indian heritage begin to feel tangled. Words come more slowly. Traditions feel different. And Layla wonders-does she have to choose one home, and one part of herself, over the other?

Inspired by the author's own journey, Twice Home is a tender and beautifully illustrated story about family, identity, and the courage it takes to belong to more than one place. Sienna Layla Tolani is a student writer, journalist, and editor in New York City. Growing up between cultures has shaped both her voice and her curiosity, inspiring her to explore questions of identity, belonging, and perspective through storytelling.

At Horace Mann School, she serves in editorial roles across several student publications, including:
