This Handbook has been written with an aim to serve as a ready reference for the officers of the Indian Army who would like to know something about their legal rights and responsibilities. It covers important definitions, rights and privileges, conditions of service, military crimes, court of inquiry, administrative action, grievance redressal, summary punishments, court martial process and jurisdiction and power of the Armed Forces Tribunal. This book contains new penal laws of India introduced in 2024, as applicable to the members of the armed forces. The provisions of the Inter-services Organisations (Command, Control and Discipline) Act and Rules of 2025 are also included in this Handbook.
