Journey Through Hell: Suffering in Silence

Jennifer Allder is a young West Indian woman who struggles with the effects of emotional neglect. Her parents fail to act, tend or respond appropriately to her needs as a child. She receives subtle but powerful messages that her feelings don't matter. Ultimately, that she doesn't matter which severely disadvantages her. By the time she is a teenager Jennifer has low self-esteem and is afraid to express herself for fear of being criticised. She feels it would have been kinder for her mother to have smothered her at birth. Frustrated, lost and confused she looks for answers to her world thats in turmoil. Too many things are conflicting - something is wrong. She searches for reasons for the emotional torment she experiences with her family members and uncovers her spiritual side. Coming to terms with what it means to have a spirit, she discovers some startling revelations about her family history.
