Healing Touch

When Ellie discovers that her touch can bring the recently dead back to life, she doesn't understand why she has been given such a power. At first, she is simply trying to understand what is happening to her. But as she grows older, she begins to believe that if she can save someone, she should.

Then she meets Jeremy.

Jeremy understands Ellie in a way no one else can. He knows what it is like to live with something inside you that you cannot explain. But Jeremy carries a secret of his own: his touch can take a life away.

As Ellie begins using her ability to give people a second chance, Jeremy becomes increasingly afraid of what those choices could mean. He believes some people are meant to stay gone. Ellie believes no one else should have the right to decide who gets another chance.

What begins as an extraordinary friendship slowly becomes something deeper-and more complicated-as the two of them struggle to understand their abilities, their choices, and the consequences of interfering with life and death.

Throughout Ellie's life, one image keeps returning: hands. She has drawn them for as long as she can remember-hands reaching, waiting, separating, and slowly moving closer together. As her connection with Jeremy deepens, those drawings begin to take on a meaning she could never have understood as a child.

Because sometimes love means saving someone.

And sometimes it means knowing when to let them go.

The Healing Touch is a haunting story about friendship, grief, love, and the impossible space between holding on and letting go.
