History shows that nations do not collapse solely because of economic crises or political conflicts. Prior to this, there is a silent deterioration of public trust, institutional independence and respect for human dignity. When the citizens stop believing in the law; when the powers of the State abandon their constitutional function; when fear replaces freedom and arbitrariness replaces law, a process of decomposition begins, the consequences of which reach several generations.

It is precisely on this phenomenon that this work reflects.

The author does not limit himself to reconstructing facts, he examines the evolution of a society that went from being a democratic benchmark in Latin America to facing one of the deepest institutional, social and human crises in its contemporary history, he does not do so without renouncing legal analysis, but also not forgetting that behind every statistic there are faces, families, life projects and shattered hopes.
