Please Do Not Restore Me

Farm Three asks Nella whether she came to restore her mother before admitting her mother is bleeding beside the reception desk.
After surviving Farm Nine, Nella knows cruelty can hide inside welfare language. She is less prepared for a place that can make a person present, useful, and invisible at the same time. Her mother has been erased from the room but not from pain. A stranger named Sorel can see her. And the restoration system offers Nella two versions of the life she lost-each one built on someone else's disappearance.
With Iven, Pippa, and a community of people the Farm refuses to count, Nella must discover who is allowed to be medically real, what a restored relationship can demand, and why the most beloved cure in the facility depends on residents no one is permitted to notice.
The deeper she goes, the more attention, memory, and love become competing claims.
To save the woman beside the desk, Nella may have to refuse the life she came to recover.
Please Do Not Restore Me is Book Two of The Mercy Farm, a dark speculative fantasy mystery about identity, personhood, found family, and the danger of being recognized only when somebody needs what you can provide.
