Keeper's Lie

Nobody in Cedar Hollow talks about Fallen Star Manor.

Not about the children who vanished there. Not about the scarecrow that never stands in the same place twice. And certainly not about the voices calling from the corn.

When twelve-year-old Avery Whitfield discovers a hidden box connected to her mother's missing sister, she refuses to accept the town's silence. With her friends Jake and Maddie, Avery uncovers a forgotten ritual, four failing boundary markers, and a creature that can imitate the people they trust most.

The first frost is coming. The boundary is breaking. And the thing in the east field has chosen its next keeper.

To survive, Avery must learn the difference between a familiar voice and the truth-and prove that some secrets become more dangerous the longer a town keeps them buried.
