Grace Through the Storm

What happens when the place you come from doesn't feel like home-but one person's love changes the direction of your life forever?

In Grace Through the Storm: A Memoir of Faith, Foster Care, and Finding Home, Constanțe "Tay" McCullough shares her deeply personal journey from a childhood shaped by foster care to becoming a teenage mother, raising three children, building a career in healthcare, and eventually finding the courage to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse.

At the heart of her story is Ada Mae, the foster mother who gave a frightened little girl something she had spent years searching for: unconditional love and a place to belong.

To Ada Mae, she wasn't simply another child passing through.

She was "My Connie."

Those two words would follow Tay through some of the most difficult chapters of her life-young motherhood, an abusive relationship, instability, grief, loss, financial struggles, and countless moments when beginning again seemed impossible.

But so did something else Ada Mae gave her:

Faith.

Through every storm, Tay discovers that the experiences she once believed had broken her were also shaping the woman she was becoming. The compassion she received as a child eventually became the compassion she carried into motherhood, healthcare, and the lives of others.

Grace Through the Storm is more than a story of survival. It is a story about breaking cycles, finding purpose, becoming the person you once needed, and discovering that home isn't always a place.

Sometimes home is the person who teaches you that you are worthy of love.

And sometimes, grace looks like someone choosing you.
