Peg Peg's Pastel Garden

Peg Peg's Pastel Garden is a story about an African
elephant who wants to grow a garden of bold,
beautiful colored flowers. Villagers give her seeds
but warn her that she must water her plants or they
won't grow. Peg Peg plays with the children at the
river all day and forgets to fill her trunk with water to
take to her garden. She stands over her plants and
cries big tears which cause the flowers to grow in the
most amazing pastel colors. When villagers ask
how she grew such lovely flowers, she cannot tell
them for she does not know her tears of love made
the flowers grow.
