Ireland. The Great Famine. Two men. One empty table. And possibly the last potato in the country.

Jimmy and Mickey are hungry, broke and running out of options. With the public works draft looming, survival should probably be a serious business.

Unfortunately, neither of them is particularly good at serious business.

When one precious potato becomes the centre of an increasingly ridiculous chain of events involving theft, an Englishman, Dopey Joe and some spectacularly questionable decisions, desperation and absurdity collide.

Famine Fortune is Jamie Phillips' original darkly comic play - an irreverent story of friendship, hunger, survival and the strange ways people cling to hope when almost everything else has been taken from them.

Because when you have nothing left, even one potato can look like a fortune.
