Refinement Flywheel: How to Build a Cleaning Business That Gets Easier Every Year

Most service businesses get busier before they get better. More customers create more promises, more

administration and often less control.

The Refinement Flywheel is the practical story of building a recurring-revenue cleaning business through hundreds

of small, deliberate improvements. It is not about chasing growth at any cost. It is about creating a business that

becomes calmer, stronger and easier to run each year.

Kevin Skidmore explains how to build a compact and profitable round, sell consistent outcomes rather than hours,

protect capacity through pricing and scheduling, and measure what genuinely affects the operation.

Drawing on real decisions from the field, he shows why a five-to-six-week route became the line for regular

maintenance, how first cleans and ad hoc work were priced as resets, why clear annual terms and Direct Debit

supported a dependable route, and how water production, flow, van capacity and staffing decisions affected speed

and profit.

You will also learn how clear service standards, reliable communication, thoughtful customer care and genuine

premium services can improve retention without adding unnecessary complexity.

This is not a theory of effortless success. It is an honest, field-tested method for noticing what keeps going wrong,

fixing the cause, protecting the gain and reinvesting it into the next improvement.
