In the summer of 1894, the worst of London's criminal class in on holiday at the beach, leaving Sherlock Holmes to sulk, read Shakespeare, and sulk some more. Doctor Watson returns to their shared lodgings to find his friend fuming at the botch the Bard has made in recounting the bloody story of MacBeth. When H.G. Wells turns up at 221b Baker Street, seeking assistance in finding his misplaced time machine, Holmes cannot pass up the opportunity to investigate an eight hundred-year old crime. The game is afoot as three Victorian era adventurers travel to seventeenth century Stratford and eleventh century Scotland in an attempt to discover who really done in Duncan.
