Vermilion Legacy

Godhuli Chatterjee Gupta's second poetry collection honors the stories and sacrifices of South Asian immigrant women-a generation of magnificent women who gave up everything in their homelands for better opportunities overseas. During a time when immigrants are under attack worldwide, this collection sheds light on their extraordinary journeys, while humanizing their experiences and highlighting the many ways in which future generations can draw from their ancestral strength to move forward in their own paths of self-discovery. It is time we celebrate and elevate the voices of the matriarchs who raised us.
