When Maddie visits her grandmother just before the Fourth of July, she discovers an old Memory Box filled with photographs and treasured keepsakes from long ago. Among them are pictures of fireworks lighting up the summer sky-memories that carry Grandma Kay back to childhood evenings spent with brothers, sisters, and family.

From picnics in the park to watching fireworks from the rooftop beside a walnut tree, each memory tells the story of laughter, family traditions, and moments that became treasures over time.

As Grandma Kay shares her stories, Maddie begins to understand that memories are meant to be saved, shared, and passed from one generation to the next. Inspired by the stories and photographs, she decides to begin a Memory Box of her own.
