The volunteers move like a unit, speaking the same language, following rules Sue doesn't fully understand... yet.

The more Sue tries to earn her place, the more the ranch tightens around her. Praise turns conditional. Friendships turn fragile. A single wrong look can make the whole barn go quiet. And the horses-once her safe place-start becoming another way to prove loyalty.
