Twelve

When James McFall was six years old, two social workers arrived at his school and took him away.
No explanation. No goodbye. No idea when he would come home.
Along with his siblings, he was placed in the care system - a world of strict rules, punishment, and silence. For the next twelve years, he moved through children's homes, institutions, and approved schools, learning quickly that survival meant keeping your head down and your mouth shut.
No one ever told him why he had been taken.
Decades later, an email from a solicitor finally revealed the truth - a single sentence buried in an official record that explained the event that had shaped the rest of his life.
By then, James had lived many lives: runaway, inmate, addict, father, survivor.
'Twelve' is the extraordinary true story of a boy taken by the system, the years he lost, and the lifelong search to understand what really happened.
It is a story about childhood, trauma, resilience, and the long road back to yourself.
