Imam Bukhari's School of Thought: Exploring His Madhab and Fiqh

The Book presents a sourced account of al-Bukhari's Fiqh and Usool al-Fiqh, his methodological choices, and the interpretive logic of his chapter headings. It clarifies where he stands on Usooli questions, and demonstrates how these principles operate inside the architecture of Saheeh al-Bukhari.

Methodologically, this study reads al-Bukhari through his own book. It starts with al-Bukhari's own words in the Saheeh, especially his chapters on legal principles. The author relies on the authoritative works like major commentaries and specialized treatises (e.g., Ibn Hajar's Fath al-Bari and Hady al-Sari, al-Ayni's Umdat al-Qari, al-Qastallani's Irshad al-Sari, Ibn al-Munir's al-Mutawari, and Shah Waliullah's Sharh Tarajim) as well as relevant modern studies, without advancing his own position. The book also collects the historical testimonies that recognized al-Bukhari not only as Amir al-Mumineen fil Hadith but also as an independent Mujtahid whose Fiqh often transcends Madhhab boundaries.
